SONGS FOR NORA TOBIAS came about when I found myself wondering what would be like to write some music to go with my book LITTLE LIAR. It was something I’d wanted to do for a long time. So I did – writing the songs over a period of a few months, and then working with producer Gronk Mounsey in his studio in Tonbridge, over a couple of days in April and May.
There are five songs on the EP: the first, ‘Prelude’, considers what it means to be a ‘bad’ female character; the second, ‘Little Liar’, is Nora’s self-introduction; the last three mark turning points in Nora’s friendship with Annabel, and the twists in their relationship.
Double bass on the record is from Mark Rose; guitar on track [4] is by Gronk. Everything else is me.
